#kalimah
A Kalimah (or Kalma) is a fundamental declaration of faith in Islam, signifying the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH). The first Kalimah, Tayyab, is essential for conversion and daily affirmation, stating, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”. There are six traditional Kalimahs that encapsulate core Islamic beliefs, prayers, and principles. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Key aspects of the Kalimahs include:
- The Six Kalimahs: While the First (Tayyab) and Second (Shahadat) are most prominent, there are six commonly recognized phrases used to teach foundational beliefs.
- Significance: Reciting the Kalimah confirms a person’s faith and submission to Allah’s will.
- Source: They are derived from Hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad) and act as a concise summary of Islamic principles.
- Usage: They are widely used for daily remembrance of Allah and to reinforce Islamic identity. [1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
The Six Kalimas are:
- Kalimah Tayyab (Purity): La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasoolullah (“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger”).
- Kalimah Shahadat (Testimony): “I bear witness that no one is worthy of worship but Allah, the One alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger”.
- Kalimah Tamjeed (Glorification): “Glory belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Greatest…”.
- Kalimah Tawheed (Oneness): “There is none worthy of worship except Allah, He is Alone and has no partner…”.
- Kalimah Astaghfar (Repentance): “I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed…”.
- Kalimah Radde Kufr (Rejecting Disbelief): “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from that I should ascribe any partner with You knowingly…”. [1, 5, 9, 10, 11]

[1، 5، 9، 10، 11]
