BMW Group India President and CEO Hardeep Singh Brar highlighted that existing on-road vehicles cannot simply be upgraded to run on E30 (30% ethanol) fuel. Millions of older cars currently on Indian roads were designed specifically for E20 or lower blends. Adapting these engines to safely tolerate higher ethanol concentrations requires major structural, material, and mechanical redesigns.
