Surah Al-Qadr (The Power/Decree) is the 97th chapter of the Quran. This Meccan surah consists of 5 verses and is dedicated to describing the majesty of Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), the night the Quran was first revealed.
Text and Translation
According to the Saheeh International translation on Quran.com:
- إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ
Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. - وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? - لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. - تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. - سَلَٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
﴿1﴾ اِنَّاۤ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ فِىۡ لَيۡلَةِ الۡقَدۡرِۚ ۖ
ترجمہ : ہم نے اس( قرآن) کو شب قدر میں نازل (کرنا شروع) کیا
Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination.
﴿2﴾ وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ الۡقَدۡرِؕ
ترجمہ : اور تمہیں کیا معلوم کہ شب قدر کیا ہے؟
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is!
﴿3﴾ لَيۡلَةُ الۡقَدۡرِ ۙ خَيۡرٌ مِّنۡ اَلۡفِ شَهۡرٍؕ
ترجمہ : شب قدر ہزار مہینے سے بہتر ہے
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
﴿4﴾ تَنَزَّلُ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَالرُّوۡحُ فِيۡهَا بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡۚ مِّنۡ كُلِّ اَمۡرٍۛ ۙ
ترجمہ : اس میں روح (الامین) اور فرشتے ہر کام کے (انتظام کے) لیے اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے اترتے ہیں
The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.
﴿5﴾ سَلٰمٌ هِىَۛ حَتّٰى مَطۡلَعِ الۡفَجۡرِ
ترجمہ : یہ( رات) طلوع صبح تک (امان اور) سلامتی ہے
(The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn.
